Austin Healy 3000. Mark 2A BJ7 Overview Purchased as a restoration project that was abandoned and had to be recovered from a garage going into liquidation. To be sold as a restoration project with the number plate to be transferred back to the owner once MOT and road registered. The number plate was out of reach price wise when the car was purchased. The car Some work has been undertaken in restoring the chassis and frame of the vehicle and some paint has been done in Californian red to match the year of the car. Floor pans are good as is the chassis and outriggers. The shrouds have been stripped back ready for working. I have acquired two handmade alloy front wings that have period side vents. (made by the late Roy Mapple) These are not the later flimsy type available from AH Spares and the like. There is one new door skin in steel, the rear wings need work or replacing with Alloy ones. Boot lid is new The engine and gearbox are present with the gearbox stripped out for rebuild and the engine probably requiring a strip and check. It was loosely assembled for transportation, and I have no knowledge of its condition. The gearbox is a centre change type of the era with overdrive. There is no trim, however there are seat frames, hood frame and door cards. There is a new dash, all clocks, heater, pedal box etc. there is no windscreen glass, yet the frame supports are present. It will require discs and calliper’s. The rear axle is complete and fitted. All suspension and steering is in place and functions. The body and chassis move and is on old spokes poor tyres. There is a new bonnet in alloy And as always boxes of bits which you may or not use again. The car is a good base for a project and should be straight forward, I ran out of time and became too busy before we moved. It is for sale as the cost and complications of shipping abroad are complex post Brexit. The car has been dry stored wings are a little rusty on the surface and the car is dusty now from storage. £25000
